Perfect Pt Reyes Picnic

“Thank you so much for your hospitality. We enjoyed seeing the natural wonders of Pt Reyes, but just as much– if not more, we we enjoyed your very lovely cottage — the hot tub and fragrant patios. Dinners at Stellina and sandwiches for a picnic from Cowgirl Creamery were a wonderful treat!”

Paul & Terry

Tips from your hosts, Greg & Doris

The best places to stock your picnic basket are Palace Market, Side Street Kitchen, Cowgirl Creamery and Inverness Park Market.

Exploring Point Reyes National Seashore

“A wonderful few days exploring the Point Reyes National Seashore. The house is lovely and we talked many times about returning for a longer stay. Really enjoyed hikes to see the Tule Elk at the Point, hikes to elephant seals and along the Estero to beaches. Cooked 3 dinners in the lovely well stocked kitchen. Thank you for a relaxing stay.”

Tips from your hosts, Greg and Doris

The best place to see Tule Elk is by hiking Tomales Point Trail — a moderate hike that offers spectacular ocean and bay views.

Elephant Seals are best viewed at Chimney Rock, where you can see the males lounging on Drakes Beach, while mothers and newborns sun themselves in protected coves near the point.

Making Memories in Point Reyes

“You made us feel very at home in your beautiful cottage. We so enjoyed coming back here after our hikes in Pt Reyes — last night after wearing the kids out on some very long hikes, after which they went to bed early, we enjoyed the hot tub, a glass of wine on the patio, a gourmet dinner we cooked together, and watching the meteor shower from the back yard. Heaven!”

Our kitchens are fully equipped — you’ll find everything you need to make anything from simple to gourmet meals. Dishwashers in each cottage make cleanup a breeze.

You’ll find everything you need at Palace Market. But if you are here on a Saturday between late June and November, make sure to visit the Farmers Market in downtown Point Reyes Station. You can also get a bag of fresh-from-the-bay oysters at Hog Island Oyster Co in Marshall and bring them home to eat raw or grill on your outdoor BBQ.

We have two bars in downtown Point Reyes Station — The Western Saloon and Station House Cafe. The Western is our much loved local dive bar, full of history and, well…character! Station House Cafe is more upscale and they serve excellent, creative cocktails. They also have live music on Sunday nights with no cover charge.

You can see who’s playing here.

Wine country is an easy day trip from here! The Napa and Sonoma wine trails are only an hour’s drive, so make a day of wine tasting and then come back to the quiet and cool coastal magic of your cottage in Point Reyes.

The Point Reyes Farmers Market runs between late June and November. If you’re here on a Saturday, make sure to check it out — it’s right in front of Toby’s Feed Barn. You’ll find the freshest fruit and organic produce, locally made artisan bread, jams and textiles. There’s live music, food trucks and a children’s play area. Great fun for families!

Tips from your hosts, Greg and Doris

There is so much to do in Point Reyes — you could stay here a month and not even come close to seeing it all. The beaches, trails, bio luminescence, kayaking, birding, elephant seals, food tours, live music and festivals…

Yet, so many of our guests love to do nothing. They slow down, settle in and find the most restorative activity is no activity. No deadlines, no distractions. Just the extraordinary quietude, interrupted by the sound of owls at night or the multitudes of hummingbirds at dusk.

This is the place to reconnect deeply: with nature, with yourself, and with each other.

Wonderland Valley Loop

“This has been our most exceptional visit to Point Reyes ever. We recommend the 13 mile Wonderland Valley Loop. We brought groceries and enjoyed eating at the Bungalow with the wood stove, cut flowers and hot tub as wonderful additions. We could not ask for or imagine a more fantastic experience in such a soulful place with such lovely hosts. We will be savoring the delightful baked goods and experiences for a long time.”

The wood stove is so cozy and lends a romantic atmosphere to foggy evenings. We provide everything you need for the fire.  The cottages also have forced air heat, for your comfort and convenience.

If you’re here to hike, we recommend stopping by the Bear Valley visitor center. They offer so much information about trails, area history, where to spot wildlife. It’s a great starting point to exploring Point Reyes National Seashore.

Whichever trail you hike, you’ll love returning to your cottage and your own private hot tub!
